    Bob co-founded American Infrastructure Funds (“AIM”) in 2006 and has been a private equity and infrastructure investor for 30 years. He has been an investor and director in a wide variety of industries, including education, building materials, forest products, energy distribution, deathcare, health and fitness, and transportation. On behalf of AIM, he currently holds three patents on the application of the design of innovative financial security structures. Bob leads the firm’s strategy and fundraising efforts, while also heading up AIM’s efforts in infrastructure, most recently creating the New American Bridges Fund to leverage AIM’s investment in United Bridge Partners, dedicated to building replacement bridge infrastructure across the U.S. 

    Bob began his private equity career at McCown De Leeuw & Co. in 1987, having previously worked as a consultant with Bain & Company, where he was one of the founding members of Bain’s Tokyo Office. Bob has served on the board of a number of public and private companies. He is also a member of the Board of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and President of Stanford’s DAPER Investment Fund. Bob lives in Atherton, CA with his wife Holly Cao and is father to two sets of twins (ages 8 and 25).
